Return park to its glory days

The dilapidated condition of one of the huts located at the Batang Duri Park, in Temburong.

Enjoying the exotic scenery of the Temburong River, observing the lives of several wild animals like deer, peacocks and large pythons in the mini zoo as well as experiencing the peaceful rainforests atmosphere were among the exciting things that one could encounter about ten years ago at the Batang Duri Park.

Now, this park is steadily disappearing. Almost all the interesting attractions like the zoo, huts, and stair-trail leading down to the rivers are no longer functioning.

It is very sad too, to realise that this attractive park, which used to be one of the biggest tourism attractions in the Temburong District is now crying out for visitors.

It is still not too late to restore this once beautiful haven to its glory days, but it should be done soon, before this treasure vanishes forever.
