The Electrical Services
Department has promptly rectified the lamppost situated in Kg
Pelambayan near the Malay Technology Museum, which had been
broken. The problem was highlighted in the Borneo Bulletin on
January 17.
In a letter to the Bulletin,
the Department said that they had rectified the matter through a
contractor on January 20, two days after the problem was
highlighted. The Department said that the lamppost was believed
to be tampered with by irresponsible parties.
The Department also urged the
public to report any hazardous situation in regards to the
electrical power supply by calling the Electrical Services
Department's 144 Hotline which is in operation 24 hours a day.
