Big Army Exercise Captures Enemy
Camps

Seria -
With the capture of enemy camps, in Kampong Buwaw in the Belait
District, the Royal Brunei Land Force once again achieved success in
exercise 'Langka Bersatu 2003'.
The exercise, which began on January
20, reached its finale with an attack conducted by the first and third
battalions of the Royal Brunei Land Force on enemy camps in the
vicinity.
The main objective of the exercise
was to assess units of the Royal Brunei Land Force in the internal
security and counter insurgency operation in their area of
responsibilities.
The ten-day controlled field exercise
involved 2,500 personnel of the Royal Brunei Land Force supported by
the Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Air Force and Royal Brunei
Services Force.
The exercise began in the rural area
in Lamunin, Sukang, Biadong and Sungai Mau as soon as these areas were
cleared of enemies, the security team moved into the next area in
Kampong Apak-Apak, Sukang and Buwaw where enemy was found setting up
new camps.
The exercise is also part of the
Royal Brunei Land Forces preparation for the coming exercise for the
main unit of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in September this year.
According to the exercise
coordinator, every level of exercise conducted by the Royal Brunei
Land Force showed its objective of achieving success without casualty.
According to him this exercise
heightened the value, the capability of the unit, sub-unit and
individuals were found that the Royal Brunei Land Force had achieved
the desired level of competence.
