Alleged Ruler Thief Still Held In Police Remand

Bandar Seri Begawan - The 39-year-old Sarawakian, who is facing a charge of stealing a ruler, yesterday pleaded guilty and was released on $5,000 court bail or two local sureties

The Police applied for an adjournment before the next mention on February 4 and to release him in the meantime. But he failed to find any surety thus was further remanded at the Central Police Station.

The Police prosecutor said the defendant Phang Ngit Jong had stolen an L-shape ruler measuring 3 feet by 9 inches from Kedai Seri Sezaman Design Sdn Bhd at No 9 1st Floor Block C, in Kg Pengkalan Gadong.

Police are seeking his accomplice who is still at large.
