We Want To Go Home Say Chinese
With Pots
By Ignatius Stephen
Bandar Seri
Begawan - We want to go home, say the 13 people who brought
three container loads of attractive Chinese pottery a month ago for
sale at the Yayasan Complex Block A ground floor.
And the group all the way from China
is willing to let go the whole lot at cut prices to anyone who wants
to buy the whole lot.
The reason for their hurried sale?
Chinese New Year is on Saturday and like most Chinese they plan like
to head home to celebrate the Year of the Ram with their families.
But now the 13 are unluckily stuck in
Brunei with their goods and the prospects of them rejoining their
families for the Lunar Year joy seem dim unless some White Knight
along and take the stock off their hands.
"Yes, we are selling them dirt
cheap. We would let go the lot to anyone who would offer us a
reasonable price. We really want to go home as soon as possible,"
said manager Mr Yuen.
This is the second time the group has
visited Brunei, the first being four months ago when they managed to
sell a large amount at the same venue.
This time they tried again bringing
another large quantity in the hope of making another windfall.
But local market had become saturated
and sales this time was reportedly slow.
