Customers are pampered for choice at Tiong Hin Superstore.

Glutinous fish and fruit figurines for the Chinese New Year at
Tiong Hin Superstore.
About a week to go before the
Chinese New Year - many people could be seen shopping to prepare
for the festivities. And if shopping is your game right now, the
Tiong Hin Superstore at Jalan Muara would be a good place to be.
The Superstore took stock of
new goods yesterday, filling the store to the brim with all that
its customers may need for the New Year. Among the items that
found their way to the store yesterday were fresh flowers - some
coming all the way from Holland - like azelias, hyacinths,
bamboo plants in different shapes and sizes, narcissus in
various colours, as well as African violets.
For the sweet tooth, there are
assorted cakes and biscuits to serve visitors, "acar"
or spicy pickled vegetables, and sweets like the "soh toa"
and the popular "chien char foo" all covered in
colourful wrappers.
There are also the peanut candy
"chui sing tang" which a very popular delicacy during
Chinese New Year, and glutinous fish and fruit figurines brought
in specially from Hong Kong and China.
The festive at Tiong Hin
Superstore will be further enhanced by a series of lion dances
by students from the Chung Hwa Middle School in the capital.
Pupils from the Honey Tree School, meanwhile, will give a stage
performance while a kung fu master from China will showcase his
martial art skills.
