A New Head For Two Kampongs

Bandar Seri Begawan - People of Kampong Ujong Bukit and Kampong Limbongan of Mukim Tamoi went to the polls yesterday to nominate their new Ketua Kampong to lead their villages.

The nominations took place at the Dato Godam Primary School.

Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Abdul Rabad, 43, was the sole candidate. He works as an assistant clerk at Health Care Technological Services in the Health Ministry.

Awang Haji Abdul Wahab received 97 votes in favour and one against.

The Assistant District Officer of Brunei-Muara Awang Haji Mohd Alimin was present to witness the election.

Kampong Ujong Bukit and Kampong Limbongan have been without a village head since 1999 after the resignation of Awang Haji Matnor bin Haji Mohd Yussof.

Today, Kampong Ujong Bukit and Kampong Limbongan are home to nearly 400 people.
