The Royal Berkshire Room, Jerudong Park was glittering with
chandeliers and limelight on Saturday night for the dinner show
'Sayangi Tuhan Rahsia Kasih Sayang' organised by Layyinah
Generasi Berwawasan Company with the co-operation of the Belait
Youth Association, 'PEMBELA'.
The purpose of this function
was to show commitment in exposing Islamic youth to the
appropriate entertainment, apparels and leisure based on the
Islamic principles.
The guest of honour was Dato
Paduka Haji Dani bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the
Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, who later launched the
company's project, 'Daya Usaha Ekonomi Belia'.
Also present were Pg Anak Abdul
Wadood Bolkiah bin Pg Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pg Anak Hj
Abdul Aziz, permanent secretaries, foreign ambassadors, and
audiences from the neighbouring countries.
In her welcoming remarks, Major
(Rtd) Hjh Sopiah bt Hj Husaini, CEO of Layyinah Generasi
Berwawasan Company, said that the project focused on
disciplining youth with Islamic ethics and values through
education and motivation, thus hoping to develop Bruneian youth
with a civilised life in accordance to Islam and Brunei's
aspiration.
Throughout the night, the
guests were entertained with Nasyid songs performed by the 'Mawaddah'
group with their first album 'Love Allah' which was produced by
Layyinah Productions. Guests were also bedazzled by the fashion
show displaying Islamic apparels, blended in Asian and Middle
East styles, which was sponsored by local and overseas
boutiques. A group of newly-wed couples from the Asean countries
also showcased their wedding outfits sponsored by Purple Bridal
Boutique.
A special appearance and Nasyid
song performed by Mel, an ex-Malaysian group singer, 'Wings' and
an Indonesian group 'Tufail' thrilled the audiences at the
dinner.
The night ended with a donation
presentation by Hj Harun bin Mokti, Chairman of PEMBELA, to
Datin Hajah Masni bin Haji Ali, Chairman of BASMIDA Association.
