Chancellor Dato Dr Haji Ismail speaking at the launch of an Exhibition
Study at UBD 2003 yesterday said that undergraduates could trained to
be the country's future leaders, an agent of development, which they
could not be if they studied abroad.
By studying and at the same time
contributing to nation building, the students were making positive
contributions and dispensing their responsibilities as citizens of the
country.
The objective of the two-day
exhibition was to impart information to the public about UBDs
programmes particularly for candidates who wish to enrol.
The exhibition is also aimed as
exposing parents on the importance of selecting the correct study
programmes based on their interest, ambitions and the children's
ability to coup with the programmes.
Students graduating from UBD this
year will have their Convocation Ceremony at the new Chancellor's Hall
situated within the UBD campus grounds.
Construction work began in October
2001 and is scheduled to be completed by March.
The hall has the capacity to
accommodate around 3,500 people.
