Brunei welcomes Korean tourists
By James Kon

Korean visitors arrive at Brunei International Airport
Around 190 Koreans arrived at Brunei
International Airport yesterday afternoon. They will be here until
January 29, 2003. The efforts between Royal Brunei Airlines and local
travel agents are paying off by positioning Brunei Darussalam as a
tourist destination.
Two more chartered flights will be
arriving in Brunei on January 29 and February 2, 2003. Some tourists
are here to enjoy the golf facilities the country has to offer while
their family members will be visiting places of interests to
"discover" beautiful Brunei.
Last year, two fully chartered
flights from Korea visited the "Kingdom of Unexpected
Treasures". There seems to be a market for Brunei's tourists
industries to flourish in Korea.
The Korean tourists who arrived
yesterday were greeted with 'Hadrah', which was performed by a group
of students. They were all smiles when they walked out of the arrival
hall.
The successful breach into the Korean
market is one of the great efforts of Royal Brunei Airlines to
"spread its wings" further into Asia regions.
It is hoped that the relationship
between Royal Brunei Airlines and travel agencies would continue to
flourish, in order to make Brunei Darussalam a major tourist
destination.
