Bogus Agent Disappears With Cash And Passport
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - Foreign tourists including overseas workers currently working here are warned not to allow irresponsible locals who offered them help to stay longer in Brunei to dupe them.

At least two female foreigners are currently searching for a local woman who disappeared into the thin air with their passports and money.

The two foreigners said a local female who promised them longer stay in Brunei approached them.

She charged them $500 each, which they obligingly paid.

However, after much waiting, the two girls were not able to locate the local woman or their passports.

They have made complaints to their embassy officials when the time had neared for them to return home.

The Borneo Bulletin was told their embassy had arranged for new travel documents for them.

The documents should enable them to return home soon.

They had also lodged a police report over the non-appearance of the local woman as well as the loss of their passports and monies to the relevant authority.
