Classes For Mentally Handicapped Starts

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Multiple Mental Handicap Unit of the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajah Mariam Ehsan Centre is now providing day-care training programme for the mentally handicapped.

The works skill class under the programme started in February last year with four mentally handicapped adults under its care.

The main objective and aim of the class is to provide pre-vocational and vocational training.

Under the programme, the trainees will eventually be prepared to accept contract jobs on a shelter-workshop basis. Training will include job related disciplines.

The class is open to all mentally handicapped people.

Entry forms and further details can be obtained from the unit during working hours.

The day care training programme operates from 9am until 4pm on Monday to Fridays except on public holidays.
