Hornet's Nest Removed From Shell Garden
By Liza Mohd

Seria - It took workers and experts about two hours to remove a large hornet's nest at the T-Garden of Brunei Shell Learning Centre yesterday morning.

A student who was resting at the garden spotted the hornet's nest last week that sent a wave of excitement through the centre. The huge nest was located in a tree, and it took several men from Hackna Company and two experts from Syarikat Harun Hj Hussin to handle the problem.

Since the nest was high up in the tree, the branches had to be cut first. A special tractor booms were hired to lift the contractors up the tree to carry out their task.

After cutting the branches, two experts wearing protective suits were lifted to a spot close to the hornet's nest where they sprayed a repellant so that the hornets would leave their nest.

After the hornets flew away, the workers brought the nest down to the ground and destroyed it. Two Brunei Shell Employees supervised the work.

Hornets are said to posses a dangerous sting. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
