Brunei's MIPR Minister For Cambodia For Tourism Talks

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei is sending Industry and Primary Resources Minister Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abdul Rahman to the 6th Asean Tourism Ministers Meeting in Cambodia.

The meeting is expected to implement Asean Tourism Agreement (T-Asean).

The agreement is designed to strengthen the tourism industry and boost further trade in the region. It will also discuss the Asean Tourism achievement for the year 2001.

The second phase in implementation of Visit Asean Campaign and the work programme for 2003 including Tourism Sectorial Meeting within the services agreement.

The Asean Tourism Ministers will also hold a meeting for the second time with Ministers from China, Japan and Korea.

The meeting, which begins today, is coincided with the Asean Tourism Forum 2003.

During the meeting with the Chinese, Japanese and Korean Ministers, both sides will discuss activities in the Asean Tourism Cooperation+3 in the effort to promote tourism among Asean and the three countries.
