Jail Term For Overstaying Bangladeshi

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 24-year-old single Bangladeshi who failed to pay an $800 fine and was sent to jail for a month after he pleaded guilty to remaining unlawfully in the sultanate on Wednesday in the Magistrates' Court.

According to the statement of facts tendered by Immigrations Prosecuting Officer Moharefandi Hj Md Tahir, Immigration enforcers arrested Ferus Ahammad Anwar Ali on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant because he failed to produce his passport.
