Car performance modification
enthusiasts will have a once in a lifetime chance to meet one of
the car-tuning masters in the world.
Mr Susumo Koyama, the
vice-president of JUN Auto Mechanic Co., Japanese maker of high
performance racing car parts is now here in Brunei Darussalam.
Mr Koyama has been in the car
modification business since he was 18. Now 44, he has achieved
several milestones in the car racing industry. With his skills
and knowledge, he has helped tune a countless number of cars to
finish at the top of the podium.
His past achievements include
his masterpiece modification of a Nissan 300ZX, which clocked
424km/h, the world record for a top speed trail in USA's short
track 10-kilometre run. This was followed by another
world-record breaking car, a Nissan S14-Silvia, which clocked
the fastest time in a US 1/4-mile drag race with a time of 8.887
sec.
His latest achievement took
place at the Tsukuba racetrack, where his perfectly tuned
Mitsubishi Evolution V clocked the fastest time in Japan with
55.976 sec in a time-attack event.
Mr Koyama arrived in Brunei
Darussalam last Sunday and will be showcasing his expertise at
the Sing Hiap Hin Keng Hwa Auto Co. Apart from the basic car
workshop services such as repair works, overhauls, car servicing
and maintenance, this company also specialises in producing the
highest quality in car performance modifications, car tuning and
power turbo acceleration.
The company is the sole
distributor of JUN racing products in Brunei Darussalam and also
the authorised dealer for A'pexi, HKS, Turbosmart, amongst
others. The typical budget needed for best results on car
modification may cost up to B$30,000.
The Sales Manager of SHHKHA
Co., Mr Danny Lee said that this year, the workshop will be
equipped with a Dyno-machine, which identifies the maximum car's
horsepower and tuning system. With this dyno-machine, customers
can experience the maximum output of their cars within the
premises of the workshop.
Mr Susumo Koyama will be in the
country until January 27, 2003, when he is scheduled to return
to Japan.
