Officials inspect modification system

The Butra Heidelbergcement Sdn Bhd has spent approximately half a million dollars on the jetty hoppers modification system to ensure environmental protection as well as to minimise dust emissions.

In an effort to ensure how the new modification hopper work, several key officials from three different departments visited the plant yesterday afternoon.

The visit was led by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications, Dato Paduka Haji Awg Abdullah.

Also present were Director of BINA, Haji Md Zain, Deputy Director of Marine, Awg. Bolkini and other officials.

They were welcomed at the factory by the Alternate Director of Butra Heidelbergcement, Mr Rubyanto A Hamidjojo and Mr Hans Welander, the Plant Manager.

The visitors stood under the hot sun for about half an hour to witness the system running from the louvre decks into the jetty hoppers.

They were also briefed by Mr Hans Welander. The hoppers, which are already equipped with dedusting point facilities and air suction, were added to that existing hoppers to minimise dust emissions.

After the tour to the jetty, the visitors met with the company management to discuss related view and feedback from the visit.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Germany is expected to make a visit to the plant on February 10, 2003.
