Foreigner's Alleged Suicide Bid In Vain

Bandar Seri Begawan - A foreign national allegedly tried to commit suicide by slashing his throat, as he couldn't bear the harassment by alleged loan sharks.

The man, in his 30s, cut his throat with a sharp object until he started bleeding and jumped into the sea at Pantai Muara on Tuesday.

But the Marine Police who were around the area at the time foiled his attempt. They plucked him off the waters and rushed him to RIPAS Hospital.

Hospital sources last night confirmed that the foreign national has been admitted with wounds to his throat. He is reported to be in stable condition. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
