Overstaying Lands Immigrant In Jail

Bandar Seri Begawan - Senior Magistrate Hj Abdullah Soefri sent a 36-year-old Indonesian behind bars for one month when he pleaded guilty to remaining illegally in Brunei for 83 days after the expiry of his employment pass.

Immigration officers who were conducting an inspection onto house No.194, Spg 196, Kg Delima Dua, arrested Slamet, a runaway worker from Lun Yew Sdn Bhd when he failed to produce his passport.

He was later brought for investigations, which revealed that he had been remaining unlawfully here for 83 days.
