Many say that, "An ounce
of prevention is worth a pound of cure." In this regard,
St. Angela's School invited guest speakers from the Fire
Department in the Belait District to talk on Fire Prevention.
The said event was held in the school's Assembly Hall on January
18, 2003. It was headed by Awg. Malinau Pantok, the person
in-charge of Fire Prevention and assisted by Awg. Mohd bin Taha,
the Public Relations Officer and other firemen. Awg. Malinau
talked on the causes of fire and how to prevent and control it.
He and his companions demonstrated to the students and teachers
how to use different fire extinguishers in putting out fire.
Some students and teachers were requested to put out the fire,
and they successfully did it. With the students' knowledge on
how to prevent and control fire, it is hoped that any
fire-related incidents will be lessened, if not totally
eliminated, in the future.
