The two cars which collided at Jalan Mumong.
Two cars collided yesterday
evening at Jalan Mumong, Kuala Belait, leaving two people
injured and the vehicles badly damaged. The two saloon cars were
coming from opposite directions, according an eyewitness.
It was alleged that a
"foreign" car travelling in front of the saloon car
involved in the accident had suddenly turned into a junction on
the left when heading to Seria. The saloon car behind the
"foreign" car swerved to the right and collided with
another car, which was heading to Kuala Belait in the opposite
direction.
The accident occurred at about
6pm and one of the drivers reportedly suffered serious leg
injuries, while the driver of the car heading to Kuala Belait
suffered shock and bruises.
Both were brought to the
hospital by a Suri Seri Begawan ambulance. The Fire Services
Department personnel arrived at the scene to assist one of the
drivers, who was apparently trapped in his damaged car.
Police personnel were present
to investigate the accident and control the slow traffic caused
by the mishap.
