Freedom Certificates For Former
Drug Abusers Issued

Begawan - In an effort to assist the people who have
successfully completed the Supervision Scheme of the Narcotics Control
Bureau (NCB), the bureau has issued a special support letter to enable
them to hold positions, which are relevant with their academic
qualification and working experience either in the private sector or
the government departments.

Shirin stressed this at the presentation of freedom certificates for
persons under the supervision of the bureau.
Dayang Hajah Shirin says the letter
issued to the participants of the scheme proves commitment and strong
support from the government to accept them back into the community.
At the ceremony, a total of 79 people
including seven females who had successfully completed the Supervision
Scheme of the Narcotics Control Bureau received their certificates.
The participants released yesterday
are between 17 and 50 years of age.
The Supervision Scheme Programme is
designed for two years.
During the year, they will be judged
on their development from time to time including attendance and
discipline.
They are to report for a urine
inspection and surprise inspection will also be conducted at their
house or places of duty.
