Pusher And Teen Girl In The Net
By Liza Mohd
Seria - Despite
stringent penalties for drug-related activities in the country, the
scourge doesn't seem to abate. On the contrary the drug pushers and
abusers are getting bolder and bolder by the day and are even
conducting their operations in the open and at public places.
On Monday night two teenagers were
caught in a raid by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials on
suspicion of buying drugs from an alleged peddler at the Seria public
toilet near the Seria town bus station.
A 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old
boy were caught on suspicion of purchasing drugs.
Altogether eight people were detained
during the raid seven NCB officials conducted at about 10.40 pm.
Fourteen small packets containing
crystalline substances believed to be syabu were seized during the
raid. It is believed that the alleged drug pusher had intended to sell
them at $10 a packet.
All the suspects were detained at the
NCB Belait office and will undergo urine tests. (Courtesy of Borneo
