A Brunei products corner was set
up at the Jaya Hypermart in Gadong recently to help promote
local products produced by several local food firms.
The local products corner aimed
to encourage local consumers to buy locally made products and
support local entrepreneurs while boosting the economy, said Mr.
Cheung, the general manager.
All the local products are food
items with competitive prices and are halal.
These include canned food,
biscuits, cakes, and many more.
The response from the public
was overwhelming. It showed customers supported local products
for its quality, Cheung said.
"We as retailers will
always support Brunei's own products, as the quality and
originality are competitive with imported food products,"
he said.
The products came from PDS Maju
Sdn Bhd, Cerah Sdn Bhd, SabliFood Industries, Syarikat
Perniagaan Malar Setia and many more.
There are plans to have more
promotions on local food products, it was learned.
