DST Communications is striving
hard to satisfy its customers but at the same time also not
overlooking the company's welfare in terms of making business.
DST Com, Brunei sole mobile
phone service operator, from time to time has received several
complaints and voices from their customers through the mass
media in regards to its services especially on the Easi pre-paid
mobile phone service.
The Bulletin also received many
complaints and suggestions from the public members through the
Opinion Page that is published every Wednesday and Saturday. One
of the popular suggestions is for DST Com to introduce a smaller
denomination for the recharge card for the pre-paid line
service.
Currently DST Com only
distributes two denominations of B$45 with a validity period of
one month and B$100 with a validity period of three months. But
the public members have pointed out that DST Com should
introduce a smaller denomination especially to cater for the
need of the much lower income groups especially the teenagers
and students.
In response to that, PHMN
Ariffin, Head of Corporate Communications of DST Com, said
"we are looking into other denomination but it is still
under investigation."
Looking into the welfare of the
company business, he further commented that when the EASI
product first introduced the denomination of $45 and $100, they
are ideal for the community of the Sultanate to ensure the
company will get their returns back on the investment.
"Business would not be
business if it is not making profit," PHMN Ariffin added.
"For sure if the smaller denomination is not profitable,
the company would reject the idea."
For the time being, DST Com has
added some value added product service to the Easi line service
such as the Caller Line Identification, International Direct
Dialing and Short Messaging Services.
PHMN Ariffin, commenting on the
rumour of Easi would have another value added service of
"Roaming", he crossed out the possibility of such
value added service to the Easi line service for the meantime.
