New Zealand High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam passes away


The New Zealand High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, resident in Kuala Lumpur, MacAlister (Mac) Price, passed away peacefully in Adelaide, Australia yesterday morning after a long illness.

Mr Price, a senior and much respected member of the New Zealand diplomatic corps, presented his credentials in Bandar Seri Begawan on October 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Nina Sudiono, sons, Duncan, Hamish and Andrew, and his grandsons and grand-daughter.

During his illness, Mr Price received much support from his many friends and colleagues in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. Nina, his family and colleagues at the High Commission are very appreciative of this and extend their thanks to everyone for their encouragement during a very difficult time.

A condolence book opened at the New Zealand High Commission in Kuala Lumpur at 9am, Thursday, January 9, will be available for signature until 4.30pm on Monday, January 13.

Any messages of condolence can be forwarded to the High Commission for presentation to Mr Price's wife, Nina Sudiono, and family.
