All Should Participate In National Day Celebrations, Says Minister

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei will celebrate its 19th National Day in six weeks and the Executive Committee members of the National Day celebration held their fourth meeting yesterday in preparation.

Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Pehin Dato Dr Awang Haji Hussein in his capacity as the chairman of the executive committee said that serious efforts to promote in terms of publicity should be made through electronic and print media to glorify anniversary.

According to the minister all Bruneians should take part in the National Day joy.

The government agencies would play an important role in bringing together the people of the sultanate to fulfil the spirit of the occasion.

Among the immediate programmes include a Doa Keshukuran, which will be held at all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide on the eve of the national day, the hoisting of national flags and a traditional parade ceremony on the actual day.

Activities and side events will also be featured.

The meeting took place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, near the capital.
