The Public Relations and Education
Unit from the Fire Services Department in Berakas held an
educational course yesterday afternoon at the Inovasi Teknologi
Sepadu Sdn Bhd. The course was attended by 8 participants from
the company and it began at 2 pm with a briefing by the
Assistant Head of Public Relations and Education Officer, Awg
Noorzali bin Apong.
The briefing touched on
theoretical aspect of fire prevention and focused on topics such
as the functions, roles and responsibilities of the Fire
Department. The participants were also taught on ways of
extinguishing fire and methods of using fire extinguishers.
They also took part in a
practical activity on fire extinguishing which focused on the
proper method of using fire extinguishers for different types of
fire situations.
Awg Noorzali added that the
main reason fire situations became serious was because of a lack
of knowledge and inability to remain calm.
