Abandoned bungalow gutted

An abandoned wooden bungalow near simpang 18 at Kg Bengkurong was gutted by fire Tuesday night. The Fire Department hotline received an emergency call at 9.53 pm. Three fire engines arrived at the scene from Bandar Seri Begawan and Berakas Fire Department respectively. Thirteen firemen led by Haji Johari bin Jaluddin managed to control the fire from spreading and it took them 40 minutes to extinguish the fire completely. Two police officers, led by Inspector Norkamal, also arrived at the scene to investigate the cause. The bungalow, which has been unoccupied for two years, belonged to Awang Haji Anuar bin Haji Yusof, who lives nearby.
