Asean Participants At Computer Course In Kuala Belait

Seria - Some 20 participants from Asean are attending a course on Developing Computer Based Learning Instruction Resources by Multimedia Technology at the Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College in Kuala Belait.

Industry and Primary Resource Ministry Permanent Secretary Dato Haji Idris in his opening address underscored the important role of computers play in daily life.

Dato Haji Idris said efforts are continued to equip the young as well as entrepreneurs to familiarise themselves with computers.

He called on the learning institutions and the private sector to support each other in I.T. education programmes.

He said the course would give the much-needed boost to raise awareness among the teaching profession in the sultanate especially in the usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The aim of the course is to strengthen the capabilities of selected management, technical and skills training institutions in each Asean country and enhance networking activities within respective countries and within the region.

The course was conducted jointly by the Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College and the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship of Japan.
