Less e-Mail Space Brings More Woes
To Brunei Users
By Laila Rahman
Bandar Seri
Begawan - It is a tight squeeze on e-mail space for BruNet
users. Many users have been complaining of mails not been received
because of the low capacity of e-mail space mails available. This has
caused considerable distress to BruNet clients particularly the
business people and frequents users. The Bulletin contacted a
telecommunication staff member about the current situation.
She explained that the reason for the
small size of the e-mail box was the badly affected Internet provider
system that could not be fed with more data. She said the BruNet is
trying to stabilize and repair the system.
She said BruNet users would currently
have 2 MB e-mails boxes compared to unlimited space, which they were
provided with before.
She took the opportunity to advise
all BruNet users to check their e-mails regularly, and not to
subscribe to web sites that they are not familiar with as to have more
space in their e-mail boxes. She said spamming is one of aspects that
have been affecting Internet systems worldwide.
She also explained that most of the
current users do not check their e-mail boxes thus some big e-mails
they receive are too large to fit in their mailboxes. BruNet has
warned users to delete unwanted e-mails so as to create more space in
their e-mail boxes.
She said BruNet would soon issue an
advisory regarding the situation for public information. If users have
any enquires about problems with BruNet, they should contact the
customer service unit, she added. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
