Produce Goods Comparable To Imports, Official Challenges

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei's businessmen and manufacturers should compete and produce better things comparable to imported products.

This is so as the future of the local food industry is dependant on their achievements.

The Acting Director General of the Planning and Economic Development Awang Haji Kamis voiced this in his speech at the Brunei Food Festival yesterday.

Awang Haji Kamis said the quality and price of the product are another important factor in gaining consumer confidence.

Variety of local food produce is put on display and for sale at the exposition at the Setia Kenangan Complex in Kiulap till January 12.

The Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Dato Haji Abdul Wahab launched the festival on Sunday night.

Twenty-six local entrepreneurs are exhibiting their products such as meat, crackers, Malay food delicacies and beverages.
