Mobile phone buyers cry foul over warranty

By Md Ezam

Mobile phone buyers beware! Some of the products that are sold here are not eligible for free services or parts with the warranty card of purchase.

Every set of new mobile comes with a charger and a warranty card, which is valid for a period of one year. Meanwhile, the warranty on battery is valid for 3 months.

One mobile user who bought a new set four months ago told the Bulletin that the company where he bought his mobile told him that the mobile cannot be repaired even though it is still under warranty.

"I just don't understand what is the meaning of warranty! I bought my mobile four months ago and when my mobile got some problems, I brought it to the company for checking," said the disappointed buyer. Furthermore, he said that the salesman of the company asked him to keep the phone because it couldn't be fixed.

"I can't use the mobile anymore since the salesman said the parts of my mobile are not available in the country. I don't know about that but I believe warranty card means it covers everything in limited period," he said.
