Around two hundred members of the
Pertiwi Association from all the four districts in the country
as well as their family members attended the annual Hari Raya
gathering at the Riverview Hotel yesterday morning.
Present as the guest of honour
was Datin Paduka Hajah Zaharah, wife of the Education Minister.
The President of Pertiwi, Datin
Paduka Hajah Jusnani binti Haji Lawie, in her capacity as the
Chairperson of the Hari Raya gathering thanked the members of
the Association for their continuous support as well as the
generous donation of gifts for the lucky draw and food items for
auction as part of the programme lined-up for the gathering.
Proceeds obtained from the auction would be given to a
charitable cause, yet to be decided, explained Datin Hajah
Jusnani.
Yesterday's gathering aimed to
give members a chance to meet, foster closer relations and
family ties. It also gave them a chance to display their
talents. However, the main objective of the gathering was to
instil awareness amongst members, those who are less fortunate
and to donate generously to them, added Datin Hajah Jusnani.
