Bandar Seri Begawan - The fruit season is here at last. And durian, locally viewed as the king of fruits is ruling the roost at the local native markets called Tamu and stalls.

The durian's green and yellow colour and its unique smell never fail to attract hordes of local buyers

Nowadays, durians do not come during fruit season only. This popular fruit with the pungent odour can be imported from neighbouring Sarawak states such as Limbang and Lawas as well as from far away Thailand.

A variety of other fruits are also available at makeshift roadside stalls. Vendors buy the farm produce and resell them at a large profit.
