RBA's Inflight Magazine Muhibah Flies High

Bandar Seri Begawan - Muhibah, Royal Brunei Airlines' multi-awarded inflight magazine, once more proved it is among the best sources of inflight information and entertainment.

That was confirmed when it was named first runner-up in the 'Best In-flight Magazine' and 'Best In-flight Entertainment Guide within the Magazine' categories at the 14th annual AVION Awards organised by the World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA) in Seattle, USA recently.

The top place in both categories was won by Air Canada. Muhibah was followed by British Airways in the 'Best Inflight Magazine' category, and Cathy Pacific in the 'Best Inflight Entertainment Guide within the Magazine' category.

RBA's Public Relations Manager and Muhibah Managing Editor Siti Diyana Abdullah, who oversees the Publications Unit that produces the magazine, congratulated her staff. They included Lito Gutierrez, Sim Geok Heng, Noorashikin Hj Nawe, Teo Seah Chea, Victor Tan, Elizawaty Kamarudin and Munirah Zainal Abidin.

She said "Muhibah is a result of teamwork and we share this honour with Hj Marzuki Iskandar Dato Paduka Hj Mohammad, RBA's Inflight Entertainment Development and Services Officer, who selects the best and most appropriate entertainment programmes for in-flight use."

"As Muhibah is the only locally published magazine which reaches an international audience, we feel it has a role to play in promoting Brunei as a tourist destination. Founded in 1979, the WAEA is the worldwide network of in-flight entertainment/communications professionals, representing over 100 airlines and 300 airline suppliers and related companies, committed to excellence in inflight entertainment, communications and services, and the continual improvement of the airline passenger environment. WAEA presents the prestigious AVION awards for excellence in inflight entertainment categories such as audio, video and print media.
