His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam
has sent a congratulatory message to Senior General Than Shwe,
the Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Peace and
Development Council of Myanmar in conjunction with Myanmar's
Independence Day.
In his message, His Majesty
expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations
and deep understanding that had so long been established between
Brunei and Myanmar. His Majesty hoped that this would be
maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two
countries. His Majesty also hoped that Senior General Than Shwe
would always be in good health and happiness and for the people
of Myanmar to continue enjoying progress and prosperity.
Meanwhile, HRH Prince Mohamed
Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs Minister, in his message to
Myanmar Foreign Affairs Minister, U Win Aung, said: "I
would once again like to thank you for your support during our
chairmanship of ASEAN and I look forward to continuing our work
to strengthen our countries' relations."
