Smuggler Jailed Ten Months For Wine, Beef, Wings And Smokes

Bandar Seri Begawan - A foreigner was sentenced to ten months in jail for smuggling.

Zanurin bin Bujang was found guilty of bringing in 240 bottles of white wine, 50 packs of cigarettes without the official health warning, 270 kilograms of beef and six kilograms of chicken wings.

He tried to smuggle the contraband through the Brunei River border.

Customs Officers from Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait caught Zanurin on Wednesday night at Panaga in Seria.

The goods were confiscated and destroyed and the two vehicles used in the smuggling were also seized.
