JPCC's Funky New Year's Eve Night Draws Huge Crowds

Bandar Seri Begawan - It was certainly a colourful and funky night for the members and guests of Jerudong Park Country Club (JPCC) where they spent a joyous and vibrant New Year's Eve celebration at the Polo Restaurant.

Over 400 people celebrated their New Year's Eve at the restaurant for there was no empty table at the Polo Restaurant, as all the tables were fully packed with members and guests who welcomed the year 2003 many with their families.

The CEO of JPCC, Hj Mohd Denis was all smiles as he celebrated the New Year with JPCC Polo Club members that included prominent figures in both government and private sectors, such as Dato Paduka Mohammad Alimin Haji Abdul Wahab, CEO of Petroleum Brunei and Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah Haji Abdul Wahab, Managing Director at Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd.

Together with their families, they enjoyed the series of entertainment organised by the management of Polo Restaurant, which included several dance performances from PDS dance group and a stand-up comedian that made the crowd roar with laughter.

The anticipated balloon drop offered a hundred items as prizes up for grabs. That took place during the countdown and did not disappoint the crowd as they won extravagant prizes ranging from a free 18-hole golf course game, free rides at the Jerudong Park Playground, and free horse riding to electrical goods.

Free rides were a courtesy from PJEP Sdn Bhd, BAC Sdn Bhd as well as a Travel Agency.

The best dressed female and male for that night walked away with a cash prize sponsored by SPI Sdn Bhd, and a dinner for two.

Mr Noli San Juan, Marketing and Recreation Officer at JPCC, expressed his "best wishes for the coming 2003" to all present at the colourful 'Funky Night'.

Meanwhile, it was a different scene at JPCC Polo Club, as youngsters celebrated the 'All Sold Out Countdown', with a series of local talent performance in the Hip Hop and R&B, where DJ Face from Malaysia spun for the young crowd. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
