The Second Battalion of the Royal
Brunei Land Force recently held a week-long competition between
its platoons to assess the military capabilities of their
soldiers both physically and mentally, in line with the
directive from the commander of the RBLF.
The competition came to a
climax on December 31, 2002 with a prize giving ceremony, and
the champion platoon crowned as the "Sultan's
Platoon."
The ceremony was held at the
parade ground of the Second Battalion in Tutong Camp. The guest
of honour was commander of the RBLF himself, Pehin Datu
Lailaraja Brigadier General Hj Awg Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof.
The Best Overall Platoon title
was won by Platoon 4 of Company B, headed by Chief of Platoon Lt
Aseqki Mornie bin Jumat. Best Overall Company was Company A.
Meanwhile, the Commander's
Company was cited as the Best Overall Company in the Second
Battalion throughout 2002.
