Make Culture Key To Brunei's Social Development, Urges Official

Bandar Seri Begawan - Industry and Primary Resource Permanent Secretary Dato Haji Idris said the success achieved by the cooperative sector is so far insufficient.

Dato Haji Idris pointed out that the real target is to make the sector such as culture a key to the development of Bruneian society.

Currently, membership of cooperative bodies nationwide is relatively small. Figure shows that there are 17,482 members or six per cent of the overall population.

He underlined this at the launching of Cooperative Movement's Silver Jubilee Book yesterday.

The book is published to mark the achievement of the cooperative sector in Brunei since it was introduced in the sultanate 25 years ago.
