Sultanate And Britain In Defence Agreement

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei and the United Kingdom reached another milestone towards closer cooperation in defence with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday.

The MoU establishes a joint commission for defence cooperation between the two nations.

Signing on behalf of His Majesty's government was Defence Permanent Secretary Dato Haji Abdul Rahman while the government of the United Kingdom was represented by the British High Commissioner Mr Andrew Caie.

The MoU on joint commission for defence cooperation is mechanism allowing both officials from both sides to hold in depth discussions pertaining to defence as to promote cooperation and understanding.

With the establishment of the MOU Brunei and the United Kingdom will be able to work closely on any issues of concern especially in the defence field.
