His Majesty Attends Silver Jubilee Banquet

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam last night consented to attend a royal banquet to commemorate the silver jubilee of the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah's reign.

His Majesty was accompanied by Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar.

The banquet held at Istana Iskandariah was also attended by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Nur Zahirah, the Malay Rulers and the Yang DiPertua Negeri of the various states.

Earlier, Their Majesties and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar arrived at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport where they were greeted personally by the Sultan of Perak.

His Majesty's entourage included HRH Princess `Azemah, HRH Princess Fadzilah and HRH Princess Hjh Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.

Also at the airport were the Raja Muda of Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah and Raja Puan Besar of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim Davidson.

Sultan Azlan Shah became the 34th Sultan of Perak after ascending the throne on February 3, 1984. He was installed as the ninth Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia in 1989 and served until 1994.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
