More Donations Pour In For
Temburong Relief Fund

Begawan - The Temburong Relief Fund set up by the Ministry of
Home Affairs to help victims of the recent floods in Temburong
received another donation of $5,000, raising the amount received by
the fund so far to $537,435.68.
Three companies - Timbertech Sdn
Bhd, Arkitek Idris and Standard Chartered Bank - yesterday handed
over donations for the fund.
On hand to receive the
contributions from the representatives of the companies was the
Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri
Setia Hj, Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatih Dato Seri Setia Hj
Mobil Yusoi.
According to the ministry, the last
date for receiving donations is March l, 2008. Donations collected
will be distributed among the flood victims within the first week of
the month. The ministry had also previously distributed a portion of
the funds to the victims.
It said the amount of funds
distributed depends on the severity of the cases. Those categorised
under serious damage received a compensation of $1,700 per household
while others the amount were according to their needs.
A total of $428,400 from the fund
has been distributed among 251 heads of families by the Minister of
