G16 Jerudong Taking Part In
Labuan Invitational Tug-Of-Tar Championship

Begawan - Brunei sent a tug-of-war team yesterday to
participate in the current Labuan Invitational Tug-of-War
Championship 2008. The country is represented by the G16 Jerudong
Tug-of-War Team, the defending champion of last year's Borneo
Tug-of-War Competition held in the Sultanate.
The two-day championship that will
end tomorrow is organised by the Labuan Corporation in conjunction
with Federal Territory Day 2008 at the Labuan Square.
A total of six teams are taking
part in the championship, including host Labuan, Kuala Lumpur,
Putrajaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei
This marks the second time that
Brunei has been invited for such a championship. The country was
formerly represented by the RBPF Tug-of-War Team.
The 12 strongmen of the G16
Jerudong team left for Labuan early yesterday morning, followed by
committee members of the Brunei Darussalam Tug-of-War Association,
led by its president Pg Hj Jadid Omarali, as well as two of its vice
presidents, Dr Chan Su Kiat and Andy Lau Sic
Chuong.
The participants were sent off at
the Ferry Terminal Serasa in Muara by the association's secretary,
