National Day Sale At Bumiputera Commercial Complex

Bandar Seri Begawan - More than 20 booths some selling products of local cooperative members are participating in a sale in conjunction with the 24th National Day which is currently being held at the Bumiputera Commercial Complex in Berakas.

The event is organised by the Koperasi Lima Rumpun Berhad (KLRB) and ends on March 8.

The Chairperson of KLRB, Dayang Hjh Siti Hawa bte Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Hj Musa said the event aims to promote their members' products as well as to encourage locals to shop in the country while celebrating the nation's historical day.

Traders are exhibiting products such as local rice or beras kampung, dry foods, perfumes, scarves, clothes, ladies' accessories and even home decoration items.

Hjh Siti Hawa said traders interested to join the cooperative may do so at the venue.

She said the cooperative comprises of local small and medium enterprise traders including shop owners and operators at the Multi-Storey Car Park Complex in the capital.

"Any active traders who want to join the cooperative are welcome as collective voices will be heard loud and clear if the cooperative has more members," she said.

She also added that aside from celebrating the 24th National Day, the event is also meant to collect funds for the cooperative to organise more projects in the future that will help develop SMEs.

"Our cooperative has been inactive for a number of years and we hope we can inject new enthusiasm by having new faces and fresh blood as well as capital to the cooperative. We do need active traders who can spur the cooperative to greater heights". -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
