Workshop On ICT Survey At SEAMEO
VOCTECH

Begawan - SEAMEO VOCTECH yesterday officiated a two-day
workshop on ICT survey entitled "ICT Integration in Education:
Policies and Practices in Southeast Asia."
Present to deliver a speech during
the opening was the Director of SEAMEO VOCTECH Regional Centre, Mohamad bin Abu Bakar.
He said, "The purpose of enriching
your ICT knowledge and experiences will be essential to your
research and data gathering on ICT about your own country. The
knowledge will be a vantage point for you and thus the challenge
posed to ICT leaders is now yours as researchers, the vanguard of
the field."
The goals of the workshop are to
orient and familiarise the participants on project background and
blueprint, develop survey instruments and guidelines, and also to
define roles and responsibilities of the project researchers.
Further objectives include
discussing the concept and components of "ICT Integration in
Education: Policies and Practices in Southeast Asia", identifying
areas of study to supplement or expand the studies already conducted
by UNESCO in Bangkok, developing a research design appropriate for
studying the identified areas, developing interview and FGDs
guideline on policies and practices at the national level.
Also among the objectives are
developing case studies on practices at the school level and
describe the roles and responsibilities of each country researcher.
Participants attending the workshop
include key officials at the Ministry of Education's ICT departments
