Al-Quran Interpretation Contest In Kuala Belait

Kuala Belait - The Belait religious and Arab preparatory schools recently held an al-Quran recital contest in Kuala Belait. It was held at Sekolah Rendah Pg Setia Jaya Pg Abdul Momin.

Dayang Hajijah binte Hj Rashid, the principal of PSJ Pg Abdul Momin religious school, said the objective of the competition was to select representatives from the district to take part in the semifinal of the national competition, which is scheduled to take place on March 6 at Sekolah Rendah Lambak Kanan.

The competition in Belait was jointly organised by the Belait Curriculum and Further Education Unit and PSJ Pg Abdul Momin religious school.

The winner in the male category was Md Haziq Fakhri bin Hj Adrian, from Sekolah Ugama Paduka Seri Begawan SOAS. The second place went to Hafiz bin Hj Hassan from Sekolah Ugama PAP Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, and the second runner up was Md Rahimi bin Md Fadillah from Sekolah Ugama Sg Taring.

In the female category, the winner was Nurafrina binte Abd Rani from Sekolah Ugama Panaga. The first runner up was Norhaziqah binte Hj Rosh from Sekolah Ugama PSJ Pg Abdul Momin, and Noragilah binte Hj Mohammad from Sekolah Ugama PIN Pg Hj Abu Bakar won the third place.
