Staff Development Training Courses Available At Civil Service Institute

Bandar Seri Begawan - A series of staff development training programmes, organised by fmBrunei Consultancy Services, will be held next month at the Civil Service Institute, according to a press release.

A workshop entitled "How to speak with greater confidence, purpose and impact" will be held from March 10 to March 12.

At the end of the course, participants would not only be more comfortable with the language of presenters, but also be aware of their own potential as proficient English speakers.

Core topics include: Identifying the essential components of a presentation; Understanding the use of correct English expressions when presenting and negotiating; Organising information in a clear and concise manner; Implementing techniques for varying vocal tones and body language; and, Identifying, learning and practising the characteristics of a good presenter.

Meanwhile, another workshop on "Effective Customer Service Skills" will be held from March 13 to March 14. It is open to all front liners, including counter and support staff, and those involved in sales and marketing.

Some Islamic principles will also be incorporated into this training to ensure its relevance to the local industry.

Core topics include: Importance of customer services in every organisation; Effective communication at all levels Understanding the needs of customers, their types and behaviours, effective listening and change management; and, Image building, personal grooming and competitive advantage.

There will also be workshop on "Effective Business Communication" from March 14 to March 15.

This course is all about improving one's communication skills, irrespective of whether it is a "face to face" or "on the phone".

This is an intensive course for people who require basic oral and written English language skills for their jobs.
