N-Day Celebration At NLPS Berakas

Begawan - The Berakas branch of the Nusa Laila Puteri School
yesterday held a celebration to mark the country's 24th National
Day.
The event began with the school
assembly where students from the kindergarten section to Primary Six
gathered with their mini flags.
Students from Primary Five then
sang the National Anthem followed by the recital of Quranic verses
led by Ainur Rohman Simoto from Primary One.
All students then marched around
the school's premises waving their mini flags.
The National Day oath was then read
by Md Akmal Faiz.
Cikgu Raduan bin Ali, one of the teachers,
delivered a speech which touched on the importance of upholding the
nation's law and advised the young to be good law-abiding citizens.
Pupils from KG 3A and 3B then
performed a song entitled 'Flag'. This was followed by a patriotic
song entitled 'Tanahair Ku' by students from Primary Six.
Students from Primary Two then
performed a nasyid song entitled 'Allah Pencipta' while female
students from Primary Six performed a traditional Brunei dance
called 'Adai-Adai'.
Sabrina Eelini binti Haji Mayalin,
a student who participated in a singing contest in Kuching last
year, performed a song entitled 'Bahtera Merdeka'.
This was followed by a poetry
recital by Dayangku Morasitikah binti Pengiran Momin.
The event ended with a group
singing of 'Tekad Merdeka', which was performed by all students and
